Music Thoughts: Lightning Bolt by Jake Bugg

Jake Bugg’s “Lightning Bolt” – from his self-titled album – gets my interest from the start with a catchy guitar riff which his vocals work with nicely. The song picks up for the chorus with a more powerful drum beat and lyrics such as “everyone I see just wants to walk with gritted teeth” before going back to the simpler pace of the next verse. It’s a short song at only two-and-a-half minutes, but it’s a good two-and-a-half minutes.

The song can currently be downloaded for free from the USA iTunes store. Expired.
Jake Bugg’s self-titled album can be downloaded from the iTunes store and Amazon MP3.
